North Waterfront / Fisherman?s Wharf

Also known as Fisherman?s Wharf, the North Waterfront area of San Francisco is the site of Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, the Wax Museum at Fisherman?s Wharf, Ripley?s Believe It or Not Museum and other tourist attractions, not to mention fresh seafood and world famous sourdough bread. Pompeii?s and Alioto?s are among the noted dining establishments that overlook the water, while a stroll along the Embarcadero will lead to such restaurants as Il Fornaio, Piperade and the Fog City Diner. Several cable car lines, as well as the historic F Market streetcar, serve the North Waterfront area, which is also in close proximity to Chinatown, North Beach, Lombard Street and the San Francisco Ferry Building.
