Cow Hollow
An affluent neighborhood south of the Marina District, west of Russian Hill, and north of Pacific Heights, historic Cow Hollow was once known for grazing cows (hence, its name), as well as a place where fishermen settled (back in the days when the Pacific coastline was in closer proximity). These days, Cow Hollow is known for its main hub, Union Street, home to health spas, wellness centers, and the original Perry?s Restaurant.
An assortment of single-family homes, condominiums, rental apartments, and flats dominate. Those built between roughly 1920 and 1950 tend to be more generous in size. Considered a prized neighborhood, property trades on well above the median, even during market downturns.
