Mount Davidson Manor
Bordered by Monterey Boulevard to the north, Ocean Avenue to the south, Westwood Park to the east and Balboa Terrace to the west, Mount Davidson Manor is one of several San Francisco neighborhoods originally developed by noted late 19th century/early 20th century architect Fernando Nelson (whose Victorian-style cottages can be seen throughout the Inner Mission, Eureka Valley, Noe Valley, Richmond, Sunset and West Portal districts). Homes here tend to be single-family detached-roof houses similar in appearance (which Nelson did by design, so as to make them affordable to working families), with windows in front and back. Many of these properties date back to the 1920s. Ocean Avenue provides access to 19th Avenue/Highway 1 to the northwest, and Interstate 280 to the southeast (by way of Geneva Avenue).
