Forest Hill Extension / Laguna Honda
Forest Hill Extension is a small, diamond-shaped community in the southwest part of San Francisco, bordered roughly by Woodside Avenue to the north, Kensington Way to the south, Portola Avenue to the east and Dewey Boulevard to the west. As its name suggests, the area is an extension of the Forest Hill district (its neighbor to the northeast), only the homes here tend to be smaller and less expensive by comparison. Also known as Laguna Honda, a likely reference to the nearby reservoir on Clarendon Avenue and Laguna Honda Boulevard (Laguna Honda means ?deep lagoon? in Spanish), Forest Hill Extension is close to the Forest Hill Muni Metro station, which serves several bus lines and underground streetcars.
