Stonestown
Stonestown is the name of a large residential apartment area and shopping center situated along Lake Merced Boulevard, next to the Harding Park golf course and the San Francisco Golf Club. It is also the location of San Francisco State University, one of the oldest public universities in the California state system. The University Park apartment complex (formerly known as Stonestown Apartments) mostly houses university students and faculty members, while the nearby Parkmerced Apartments community (high rise flats, townhouses and upscale apartments with many attractive amenities) is open to the general public. The area has no individual homeownership opportunities.
