Sea Cliff
A very affluent neighborhood on the northwest outskirts of San Francisco, Sea Cliff (sometimes spelled "Seacliff") is known for its sprawling homes (many of which resemble large suburban estates), not to mention its impressive views of the Pacific Ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin Headlands. Close to Ocean Beach, Baker Beach and China Beach, it is also one of several so-called "garden suburbs" in the outlying Richmond District area whose large lots and proximity to natural surroundings were influenced by British planning principles. The main thoroughfare, El Camino del Mar, provides direct access to the Golden Gate Bridge by way of the Presidio, while the mostly flat streets of the neighborhood make it a popular destination for bicycle riders and the occasional sightseer (Sea Cliff boasts among its residents such celebrities as Robin Williams, Sharon Stone and Cheech Marin).
