Jordan Park / Laurel Heights
Jordan Park, aka Laurel Heights, is a quiet, sunny, residential neighborhood situated South of the Presidio, east of the Richmond District, and a few blocks north of the campus of the University of San Francisco. Known for its tree-lined streets—not to mention street names derived from types of trees, such as Palm, Maple, Laurel and Euclid—it is one of San Francisco's "garden suburbs," so named because of its large, landscaped lots and bucolic suburban surroundings. Though not quite as affluent as Pacific Heights (its neighbor to the northeast), Laurel Heights is popular among urban professionals because of its rich Victorian architecture, hillside views of the City, upscale shopping center on California Street between Laurel and Spruce, and immediate access downtown by way of Euclid Avenue (the main street in Laurel Heights, which eventually turns into Bush Street, the main hub of the Financial District). The California Pacific Medical Center Children's Hospital Campus is located on California between Arguello and Maple.
